DaD Asia as an example of Entrepreneurship in National Television

DaD Asia received the visit of a TV program from the Spanish National TV Called Emprendedores + Innovadores (Entrepreneurs + Innovators). The program shows the experience of different kinds of entrepreneurs from the founders of the Spanish SNS Tuenti (Invested by DaD) to a leading Biotechnology firm, all of them are Spanish but their companies are not only in Spain but also US or China.

DaD Asia was selected as a meta-entrepreneurship project, the directors of the program wanted to show the angle of not only being involved in the creation of an investment company, DaD Asia, but also all the companies we invest, where we have an active role to support the entrepreneur beyond what a financial investor does.

One of the goals of the program is to show the human part of people behind the companies so they started introducing the experience of Oscar Ramos and Mónica Muriel, two young Spaniards that decided to quit good positions in their country to look for new challenges. Their opinion was that the experience positive or negative will always make them better and stronger, Monica literally says: “If everything goes wrong we can always come back home and we will still have our degrees, will have improved our English, learn some Chinese and definitely know much more about the world and real life”. The challenge is that for some people if you do not succeed in a venture they will think you will always do everything wrong, but as Oscar says: “We believe that if you have failed is because at least you had the initiative to try and this is a very positive value that can’t be taught”.

Paco Bas, the host of the program, visits together with Oscar and Monica DaD Asia’s office in Shanghai where the company and the whole team is introduced. In the video he briefly talks in Spanish with Luis S. Galán, our partner in the new Consulting Unit that DaD Asia has launched this year. The Goal of DaD Asia Consulting is to support foreign company expansion in China through Internet and hopefully in the future the expansion of Chinese companies overseas, especially in the Spanish Internet, today the number three language in terms of users.

During the lunch we met with Sara and Anjara two Spanish entrepreneurs that are members of a newly created organization for Spanish entrepreneurs in China. In the afternoon, the program visits Tiao’s office. As football is the most popular sport in Spain a visit to the top football fans SNS in China is a great way to show the potential and size of the Chinese Internet. We have a brief conversation in Spanish, English and Mandarin.
