Founded in Spain in 2006, DaD has established itself as the leading web 2.0 vehicle in Spain. Operating multiple offices globally, DaD Asia was established in 2009 and leverages its global team’s experience and knowledge to provide Chinese start-ups with the tools necessary to succeed and investors with high-return opportunities.
Our model is designed so that investors participate over time in multiple investments and also get specific opportunities to invest in companies they prefer within our portfolio.
DaD Asia offers diversification in a high return environment. This improves performance within a risky industry. Additionally, DaD Asia’s partners have co-investment opportunities in incubated projects, not only in seed but also in following investment rounds.
Why in China?
China is the largest Internet market in terms of users and has the highest mobile connected users. The development of 3G services is opening new opportunities for tech startups. A large internal market and low operating costs make China the perfect environment to develop strong projects that will become global leaders in the future. The potential of China based Internet projects is already well known. Several companies listed on NASDAQ have raised record numbers in their IPOs.
Copy-cats of successful Western companies are a secure option. The model has already been validated and just needs to be adapted. However, Chinese entrepreneurs and companies are proving their own innovation capabilities. Examples include developing unique social network revenue models and improving user stickiness. With lower capital requirements, projects in China are easy to start but are difficult to transform into real, sustainable businesses. Our role as an incubator is to simplify this process using synergies created within our ecosystem to minimize risks and improve the start-up’s performance.
At this stage of development, we are looking for strategic partners to add value into DaD Asia’s ecosystem, especially in China. If you are interested contact us to arrange a meeting.
