Why in China?

China is the largest Internet market in term of users (384M in Dec09, 40% of them using mobile Internet), and has as well the highest number of mobile phone lines (747M in Dec09 MIIT). The recent launch of 3G services is opening new opportunities for tech startups. The large internal market and the low operating costs are the perfect environment to create strong projects that will become global leaders in the future. The potential of China based Internet projects is already well known, with several companies listed in NASDAQ and some of the most expensive Internet companies IPOs.

Nowadays copy-cats of successful western projects are a secure option, the model has already been validated and "just" needs to be adapted. However, Chinese entrepreneurs and companies have also proven their innovation skills, for example by developing Social Networks revenue models or improving the user stickiness. Projects in China are easy to start but difficult to transform into “real business”. Our role as an incubator is to simplify this process using the synergies created within the ecosystem to minimize risks and improve companies performance.
